Got together with some of my buds from the collective. I teach them basic animation principles and in exchange they'll collaborate with me on an animated film! *dances with joy* AND I've already got three awesome actors willing to lend their skills for free -- they're just excited to get involved.
So stoked about this. Most of it probably won't be animated before the next CalArts application deadline (late Nov for preferred deadline) but that's okay! We're doing this, it's final, and it's gonna be awesome.
Now for all great news, there must be an equal dose of the bad -- or in this case just the annoying. A group of girls had to perform a korean fan dance that requires at least 9 participants. They numbered 6. So, in my compassion I volunteered to help. No one told me we were performing ten days from the time I agreed to commit. The others have been at it for a month while I've been at it for five days.
Holy **** we're performing in 5 days. *practices*
"HANA, tul, set net. TUL, tul set net. SET, tul, set net. NET, tul, set -"
*boing*
"AGH! HOLY FRICK! My left forearm tendon just snapped!"
"Keepa yo' arm straight! I gonna breaka yo' arm! So ugly! STRAIGHT!! STRAIGHT!!"
No compassion, she.
